Eric M. Schwing

My name is Eric Schwing, and I am proud to be a part of Johnson Law Group. I have been in the private practice of law since 1993, and my focus is on the needs of my clients first and foremost.

I have handled hundreds of criminal trials, appeals, and administrative hearings, and have practiced in state and federal court throughout the state of Illinois. I have practiced before and even won cases in the United States Supreme Court.

Prior to entering private practice, I worked for the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety first as the Deputy Chief Legal Counsel, and then as the Senior Staff Attorney. I have also worked as a staff attorney for the Office of the Federal Public Defender in the Central District of Illinois.

In my free time, I enjoy sailing competitively with a crew that includes my daughter in the Chicago-Mackinac, Port Huron to Mackinac, and Queen's Cup regattas. When I am not on the water, I can usually be found on the tennis court with friends, or spending time at home.
