Every client deserves a lawyer with the knowledge and experience that can make a difference in their case, someone who can fight for them. This is why I am at Johnson Law Group. I was raised in central Illinois, not far from our Peoria office. My parents always instilled in me the value of hard work, which I carry with me to this day. Unlike a lot of lawyers, I wanted more life experience before becoming a lawyer. Before I went to law school, I worked in construction and a factory. These experiences taught me a lot, and I know what it takes to work a demanding job. When I went to law school, I was able to meet the demands of school while also being a father and husband.
Much like building a house, building a defense is strategic and takes time. Like most at Johnson Law Group, I previously worked as a prosecutor. However, I always understood that people make mistakes, and I saw firsthand that police can get it wrong. As a prosecutor, I wanted to let my compassion show, and now at JLG, that compassion helps me better serve our clients. I pride myself in being able to provide comfort and dependability for our clients in order to guide them through what is, for many of them, the most difficult time in their lives.
I am in court quite often, litigating cases for our clients. I have conducted dozens of jury and bench trials and countless substantive motion hearings. I am no stranger to hard work or the outcomes that come from it. I have won all types of criminal cases, including ones against attorneys who have reputations as being premier trial attorneys, and have developed a passion for criminal defense work.
As a husband and father of five, I spend time with my family and keep up with the ever-evolving law pertaining to criminal defense.
